Beaches in Paralio Astros — Just 35 Minutes Away

Crystal-clear waters, authentic Greek charm and the perfect day by the sea — a short, scenic drive from Villa Arcadia.

Mountains and sea, in one trip

Wake up in the mountains. Swim in the Aegean by lunch.

Villa Arcadia sits high in the mountains of Arcadia, near Tripoli — a quiet world of stone villages, vineyards and the kind of silence you only find at altitude. It's where you go for peace, privacy and long evenings on the terrace.

What most guests don't expect is the sea. The beaches of Paralio Astros, on the east coast of the Peloponnese, are only 35 minutes' drive down a beautiful mountain road — close enough to make the beach a half-day plan instead of a full expedition. One holiday, two landscapes.

The beaches

Four shores worth the drive.

On the water

Windsurfing & kitesurfing in Paralio Astros.

The bay north of Astros village is a quietly famous spot on the Greek windsurfing circuit. Steady afternoon thermals roll in off the gulf almost every summer day, the water stays flat and the mountains of Parnon make a backdrop you won't find on any other shore in the Peloponnese.

Local schools rent boards, sails, kites and wetsuits, and run lessons for beginners through to advanced. Sailboats anchor just offshore; total beginners and seasoned riders share the same bay without crowding.

  • Wind window: reliable thermals June–September, peaking 1–6 pm.
  • Conditions: flat to lightly chopped water, side-onshore wind.
  • Good for: intermediates and freeride; lessons for first-timers.
